Hi, I'm Marian Harris.

As a lifelong athlete having just turned 60, I'm your trusted guide to help you live your best life on purpose.

My Story

It brings me immense joy to welcome you to the Fit & Fab at Sixty community. This platform is designed to be a safe space where you can ask questions, share your experiences, and embark on a transformative journey towards living your best life. Together, we will create "magic" as we support and empower each other to reach our goals, no matter how big or small they may be.

As a lifelong athlete, fitness has always been an integral part of my life. I began swimming competitively at the age of six and went on to swim at Clemson University on a scholarship. After graduating, I transitioned to weight training, running, and even took up tennis at the age of 49. My own journey is a testament to the fact that it's never too late to learn new skills or embrace new challenges.

In 2008, I followed my passion and became a personal trainer, initially focusing on helping women regain their strength and confidence after childbirth. Over the years, my focus expanded to include personal training for all ages and leading group fitness classes that combined cardio and strength exercises. The most rewarding aspect of being a personal trainer is the deep connection I form with my clients. I am committed to guiding them towards success, and I take this responsibility to heart. By working together as a team, my clients can rely on me to provide the knowledge, support, and motivation they need to achieve their desired transformations. Witnessing their growth and progress is an incredibly emotional and fulfilling experience.

In late 2020, my husband and I made the difficult decision to sell our fitness businesses to our key employee and move back to South Carolina to care for my aging mother. Although this transition drastically altered my lifestyle, fitness remained a constant in my life. As I approached my 59th birthday, I made a promise to myself to be consistently dedicated to my fitness and nutrition, with the goal of entering my 60s as a new woman. I am proud to say that I have remained true to my commitment.

I look at turning 60 as an exciting prospect, even though it's surreal to think about. In my mind, I still feel like I'm 22, but I've come to recognize the importance of adapting my training methods to suit my age and the unique challenges that come with being in our 60s. Through conversations with others in this age group, I've realized that many of us are facing similar obstacles, such as caring for aging parents, managing Thyroid issues, coping with child estrangement, raising grandchildren, or returning to work after the loss of a spouse. These life-altering events can take a toll on our moods, energy levels, and overall well-being.

Despite the variables that we may encounter at this stage of life, one constant remains: the vital role that exercise plays in maintaining our physical and mental health. I firmly believe that prioritizing fitness is the foundation for navigating the complexities of life in our 60s.

I invite you to join me on this incredible adventure as we explore the many facets of life at 60 and beyond. In addition to working out together, we will delve into topics such as fashion, beauty, and other areas that are specifically tailored to us, the powerful women in our sixties. Together, we will commit to embracing our strength and vitality as women who are Fit & Fab at Sixty. Believing the best is yet to come, and living our best lives on purpose.

Thank you for being a part of this inspiring community. I look forward to embarking on this transformative journey with you.

With love and support,

Marian.
